Marble Charter School |
The race is a benefit for the Marble Charter School. The school is located in a historic building and teaches 30 students in two classrooms. The school was started in 1995 after much community involvement as an alternative to bussing students 30 miles to Carbondale. Race entry fees and sponsorships go towards academic and athletic programs at the school, assistance to low income students with basic needs, and project based learning trips and opportunites.
